    About the Friends

The Friends of the Mansfield Traquair Centre (formerly known as the Friends of Mansfield Place Church) provide support to Mansfield Traquair Trust by informing members and the public at large about the building and the murals. There is a regular newsletter and a programme of events and meetings, concentrating on the work of Robert Rowand Anderson and Phoebe Anna Traquair and their contemporaries.

The Friends produce all the materials available for sale on open days and at other events including guidebooks, postcards and annual Christmas cards, and have also successfully commissioned an audio-guide for the building (including new recordings of music originally written for the Catholic Apostolic Church). Sales from these materials provide valuable income which is passed on to the Mansfield Traquair Trust to aid the ongoing maintenance of this wonderful building. The Friends are also the voluntary guides meeting, greeting and touring visitors around the building on scheduled open days, as well as being generally available for private tours by prior arrangement or as part of any event being hosted in the Mansfield Traquair Centre.

The Friends is a voluntary organisation with a membership of around 200, mostly drawn from Edinburgh and Scotland, but also including supporters from all over Britain and overseas.
